Smart Reservoir · Fleet coordination

100 tanks. One sewer.

Before a forecast storm, hundreds of tanks need to make space. What happens when they all drain at once—versus taking turns?

Staggered, throttled release
Half the tanks at a time, outlets limited to two-thirds of full flow.

The result: the same 600 m³ of pre-storm drawdown, but a 67% lower peak discharge rate in the coordinated example. Locations are assigned to sewer zones, with shared and local flow limits. The 100 m³/h allowance and valve rates are illustrative assumptions, not measured Wien Kanal capacity or an estimated overflow reduction. Real operation requires network approval, reliable capacity information and fail-closed controls.
